Alloy Plating Intermediates

Introduction

Alloy plating is the process of plating a thin layer of alloy on some metal surfaces based on the principle of electrolysis. Alloy coating has many excellent properties that single metal coating does not have, such as high hardness, compactness, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, good magnetism, easy brazing and beautiful appearance, so it has more extensive application fields and more important value.

Alloy Plating Intermediates

Application

According to the characteristics and application performance, alloy electroplating can be roughly divided into the following types.

  • Protective alloy plating

At present, the alloy coatings widely used in production are zinc-nickel, zinc-iron, zinc-cobalt, tin-zinc and cadmium-titanium alloy coatings, which belong to anodic coatings for iron and steel.

  • Decorative alloy plating

For some metals with good decorative performance but shortage of resources and high price, some other alloy coatings are often used to replace them. For example, copper-zinc, copper-tin, copper-zinc-tin and other alloys are used as imitation gold coatings. In addition, tin-cobalt, tin-nickel and other alloy coatings can also replace decorative chromium coatings.

  • Functional alloy plating

Because alloy coatings have special properties and special requirements for use, alloy coatings are divided into brazing alloy coatings, wear-resistant alloy coatings, magnetic alloy coatings, bearing alloy coatings and stainless steel alloy coatings.

  • Precious metal alloy plating

This type of coating is mainly based on alloys of precious metals such as gold, silver and palladium, such as gold-cobalt, gold-nickel, gold-silver, etc. These alloys are mostly used on electronic components.

Product Recommendation

Alloy plating is a process of co-deposition of two or more metals by electrochemical methods. Because the electrode potential of each metal element is different, it can not be deposited at the same time during electroplating, so the alloy with special properties can not be formed. Therefore, it is necessary to add corresponding additives to make the electrode potentials of several elements tend to be close, at this time, several elements reach the condition of common deposition, and can be arranged according to a certain structure to form a substance with dense structure, bright and smooth appearance, which is completely different from the original elements.

Alfa chemistry offers the following intermediates for customers to choose from for alloy plating processes, including:

N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine. It is easily soluble in water and the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. It is mainly used as the complexing agent for electroless copper plating. Tetrahydroxypropylethylenediamine is used in the manufacture of circuit boards for electroless copper plating, flux and cleaning agent, metal complexing agent, chelating agent and wetting agent.

N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine. It is mainly used as organic intermediates, rigid polyurethane foam cross-linking agent, chelating agent, moisturizing agent, gas absorbent, resin molding, detergent processing.

1,2-Ethanediamine, N-(2-aminoethyl)-, polymer with oxirane. It is mainly used as zinc-nickel alloy complexing agent.
