Aluminum Passivation Solution

As a professional supplier of electroplating-related products, Alfa Chemistry offers a wide range of high-performance surface treatment solutions tailored for various substrate materials. Among them, our aluminum passivation solution (product code: ACEP-PRE-026) is specially formulated to enhance the durability and longevity of aluminum surfaces through the formation of a passive oxide layer. This protective film significantly improves resistance to oxidation and corrosion, especially in harsh environments.

Key Advantages

  • Fast & Efficient Processing: It achieves effective passivation in just 1-6 minutes (depending on temperature), significantly improving production efficiency.
  • Simple & Safe Operation: No specialized equipment or harsh conditions required. The solution is low-toxicity, mildly corrosive, and can be used in standard plastic containers.
  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Treated parts demonstrate excellent performance in neutral salt spray tests (up to 200 hours without rusting).
  • Wide Applicability: Suitable for various aluminum-based materials, including pure aluminum, alloys, and die-cast parts.
  • Consistent & Reliable Results: It ensures uniform surface treatment with stable passivation quality.

Recommended Usage

  • Solution Preparation
    • Dilute 40% passivation concentrate with 60% deionized water and mix thoroughly.
    • Adjust pH to 3.7-3.95 using 5% sulfuric acid (if pH is high) or 1% NaOH (if pH is low).
  • Pre-Treatment (Critical for Best Results)
    • Remove oils and contaminants using a degreaser to ensure proper chemical reaction.
  • Passivation Process
    • Immerse parts in the solution at:
      35-40°C: 1-3 minutes (optimal: 2 min)
      30-34°C: 2-6 minutes (optimal: 4 min)
  • Post-Treatment
    • Rinse thoroughly with pure water.
    • Dry at ≤65°C (avoid overheating).
    • For salt spray testing or coating, allow parts to cure for 24 hours after passivation.
